ORDER: In the Governor's address, 2003, it has been announced as mentioned below:- "In Dry land agricultural zones, an all out coordinated effort for integrated farm management together with goat rearing will be encouraged." 2. Accordingly, in the letter second read above, the Registrar, Tamil Nadu Veterinary Animal Sciences University has sent project proposals for the implementation of the scheme on "Economics of Integrating Goats in Dry Land Farming System" in Dharmapuri as a Pilot Scheme at an estimated cost of Rs.22.814 lakhs." 3. After careful examination, the project proposal submitted by the Registrar, Tamil Nadu Veterinary Animal Sciences University is approved and sanction is accorded to incur an expenditure of Rs.22.814 lakhs (Rupees Twenty two lakhs eighty one thousand and four hundred only) to implement the scheme of ""Economics of Integrating Goats in Dry Land Farming System" in Dharmapuri District." (in Dharmapuri, Pennagaram, Nallampalli, Palacode, Morappur, and Harur areas. 4. This scheme will be implemented in collaboration with the following Institutions:- 1) Tamil Nadu Veterinary Animal Sciences University 2) Department of Animal Husbandry 3) Tamil Nadu Agricultural University 4) Department of Agriculture. 5. The main components of the scheme are as follows:- (i) Supply of quality fodder seeds and suggesting agro forestry models with cash crops. (ii) Establishing agro forestry system and pasture, soil analysis (iii) Integrating goats, providing inputs, training, data collection, (iv) Technology discrimination and health cover." 6. District level monitoring Committees will be constituted, consisting the following members to implement the scheme:- 1) Joint Director of Animal Husbandry, Dharmapuri - Chairman 2) Joint Director of Agriculture, Dharmapuri - Member 3)
Head, Veterinary University Training and Research 4) Head Regional Research Station, Paiyur - Member 7. The Director of Animal Husbandry will be the State Level Coordinator. The Professor and Head, Institute of Animal Nutrition, Tamil Nadu Veterinary Animal Sciences University will be the Project Promoter of the scheme and the Associate Professor and Head, Veterinary University and Training Research Centre, Tamil Nadu Veterinary Animal Sciences University, Dharmapuri will be the officer in charge of the scheme at the District. The duration of the Scheme is for 3 years. 8. The Director of Veterinary Services is authorised to draw and disburse the amount sanctioned in para-3 above, to the Registrar, Tamil Nadu Veterinary Animal Sciences University, who is the implementing authority. The Registrar, Tamil Nadu Veterinary Animal Sciences University is requested to send the progress report on the implementation of the scheme to the Govt. 9. The expenditure sanctioned in para-3 above, shall be debited to the following Head of Account:- 2403-00 Animal Husbandry - 107. Fodder and Feed Development - Scheme in Tenth Five Year Plan - II State Plan - JF. Scheme for sustainable farming integrated with Animal Husbandry department - 09. Grants-in-aid - 03. Grants for specific schemes (DPC No.2403 00 107 JF 0933) 10. Necessary funds will be provided in the Final Modified Appropriation 2003-04 by re-appropriation from the provision under the detailed head, 80. Lumpsum provision in the above sub head of account. Pending provision of funds as above, the Director of Animal Husbandry is authorised to incur the expenditure. 11.
