From the Commissioner & Director of Veterinary Services Lr.No.9322/JJ3/01, dt.20.1.04 & 31.3.04 - - - ORDER : National Project on Rinderpest Eradication is a National Programme of global importance, implemented in Tamil Nadu as per the guidelines laid down by the office Internationale Des Epizootics (OIE), Paris aiming to eradicate Rinderpest disease from India so as to improve the export of animals and animal by-products from our country. Now the state has been declared as provisionally free from Rinderpest. 2. In the letters first read above the Commissioner & Director of Veterinary Services has sent proposals for the constitution of State Animal Disease Emergency Committee (SADEC). 3. In the letter second read above, National Animal Disease Emergency Committee (NADEC) and National Emergency Task Force (NETF) were constituted by the Government of India. 4. In order to ensure food security and poverty alleviation, to suggest measures to enforce Act for control and arrest the spread of disease by zoning areas and to advise the Government to tackle any re-emergence of Rinderpest, the Government accept the proposal of Commissioner & Director of Veterinary Services and direct that a State Animal Disease Emergency Committee under the chairmanship of Secretary to Government, Animal Husbandry & Fisheries Department be constituted in the State to deal with any emergency situation in case of re-emergence of Rinderpest disease in the state of Tamil Nadu. 5. The Government accordingly direct that the following notification shall be published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette. Notification The Government constitute a State Animal Disease Emergency Committee to tackle any emergency situation in case of re-emergence of Rinderpest disease in the State of Tamil Nadu under the chairmanship of Secretary to Government, Animal Husbandry & Fisheries Department with the following members.
