ORDER

In the Special Initiative Meeting held on 22.01.2003 and 23.01.2003 under the Chairmanship of Secretary, Planning and Development Department it has been decided, among others, that the Commissioner of Agriculture  would grow Jatropha Plant in 25 hectares (12.5 ha. in the irrigation land and 12.5 ha. in unirrigated land) during 2003-2004 by using their own seedlings.  Accordingly, the Commissioner of Agriculture has sent a Pilot Project for organising Demonstration of Jatropha Cultivation in 25 ha. in the Five State Seed Farms as in the Annexure-I and requested the Government to sanction Rs.2.97 lakhs for implementation of the Programme.

2)  The Government after careful consideration of the proposal in para-1 above accord sanction to implement the scheme for Demonstration of Jatropha in 25 Has. at 5 State Seed Farms as in the Annexure-I at a total cost of Rs.2.97 lakhs under the following Head of Account 

“2401-00-Crop husbandry-103 seeds AF Establishment of Foundation Seed Farm for Oil Seeds 69 –PA I (Procurement of Agricultural Inputs).

(DPC No.2401-00-103-AF –6909)”.

3)  The Special Commissioner and Director of Agriculture is requested to implement project with additional cost at minimum level.

4)  This order issued with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O.No.31/JS(Per)04 Dated 20.2.2004.
