ABSTRACT

Information Technology - Putting Up of integrated Information Technology Campus consisting of Information Technology Buildings, Residential and social infrastructure subject to Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Rules in Coimbatore IT Park (extension), Madurai, Tiruchirappalli and Salem – Administrative Sanction accorded – Orders issued.

ORDER:

The Hon’ble Chief Minister has announced, among other things, on the Floor of the Legislative Assembly on 8.5.2007 that integrated Information Technology Campus as consisting of Information Technology Buildings as well as Residential and Social Infrastructure facilities will be established in Coimbatore Information Technology Park Campus (extension), Madurai, Tiruchirappalli & Salem.

2. According to the above announcement of Hon’ble Chief Minister, administrative sanction is accorded for ELCOT establishing integrated Information Technology Campus consisting of Information Technology buildings as well as Residential and Social Infrastructure subject to Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Rules in the following places:-

i. In 33 acres of land, of Coimbatore Information Technology Park campus, (extension) Coimbatore;

ii. In 50 acres of land out of an extent of 240 acres at Vadapalanchi and Kinnimagalam Villages, Madurai District;

iii. In 100 acres of land out of 164 acres at Jagir Ammapalayam Village, Salem District ; and

iv. In an extent of 50 acres of land out of 135.04 acres of land at Navalapattu village, Tiruchirappalli District.

The Information Technology Parks consisting of Information Technology Office space as well as social infrastructure will be created through Public Private Partnership (PPP) model at the above places.

3. The administrative sanction accorded for ELCOT setting up of Information Technology Park and to construct a one million sq.ft Information Technology Tower (10 lakhs sq.ft) in a part of 135.04 acres of land in Navalpattu village, Tiruchirappali District in Public Private Partnership model in the Government Order first read above is hereby cancelled.
