2. In the letter first read above, the Director,  Tamil Virtual University has  stated that Tamil Virtual University has already put a Video Gallery of 137 temples of Tamil Nadu in the Tamil Virtual University Digital Library under Cultural Gallery.  The temples stand as testimony of Tamil Architecture and Culture.  Churches and Mosques have also been built following this heritage.  Tamil Virtual University proposes to identify those Churches and Mosques along with additional temples, which were built following the Heritage and Culture  of Tamil Nadu and produce Video Clippings and add to the web.  This will be produced as CDs.  This would help the foreigner to understand our architecture and culture.  The material already available in the Tamil Virtual University can be made use of.  These groups have not been fully covered earlier.  Hence it is proposed to take up the work and complete within a year.  Therefore, Tamil Virtual University has proposed that a sum of Rs. 7.00 lakhs may be sanctioned as a non recurring expenditure under Part-II Scheme 2006-07 to Tamil Virtual University for Content creation of Tamil Arts and Culture in Multimedia CDs and distribution.  A Non-recurring expenditure of Rs. 5.00 lakhs has been recommended for the above scheme under Part -II Schemes 2006-07.

3. The Government have carefully examined the proposal and accepted the same under Part-II Schemes 2006-07.  Sanction is therefore accorded for incurring  a non-recurring expenditure of Rs.5.00 lakhs (Rupees Five Lakhs only) to Tamil Virtual University under Part-II Scheme 2006-07 for implementation of the scheme Content creation of Tamil Arts and Culture in Multimedia CDs and distribution as detailed in paragraph 2 above.
