ORDER:

In the Government Order first read above, guidelines specifying the terms and conditions for the use of public right of way by any private or Public Sector licensees that proposed to lay Optic Fibre Cable along with National and State Highways and other roads in the State of Tamil Nadu, were issued.  Permission for right of way has been provided to the licensed Private/ Public Sector Company for laying Optic Fibre Cable along the side of Government roads.

2.  Tata Teleservices  Limited has requested the Government to permit TTL to lay the Optic Fibre Cable connectivity network with in Tamil Nadu.

3.  The detailed proposal of the TTL have been carefully examined by the Government in the IT Department, Municipal Administration and Highways departments in view  of the acceptance terms and conditions by TTL, the Government have decided to accept the request of the Tata Teleservices Limited

4.  Accordingly, the Government hereby grant permission to TTL for use of public right of way in Tamil Nadu for lay of Optical Fibre Cable subject to the following:

  1. 1.  The trenchless excavation method should be used while laying  Optic Fibre Cable in the roads falling in the urban areas as far as possible
  2. 2.  In Co-ordination with other service providers avoid indiscriminate digging of roads. 
  3. 3.  The conditions laid down in G.O.Ms.No.7,IT Department dated 12.2.2001 should be  strictly followed.
  4. 4.  The High Level Committee already constituted at District /Corporation level consisting of District Collector/ Commissioner of Corporations, Police Officials and Officials of Highways department will monitor the progress work of laying Optic Fibre Cable in their respective jurisdictions.
  5. 5. This order issues with the concurrence of  Public Works/ Highways/Municipal Administration and Water Supply departments.
