 ORDER:

 In the G.O. first read above, the Government approved the guidelines for the Tamil Software Development Fund (TSDF).  ELCOT has been authorised to mobilize funds for the purpose of TSDF, to constitute the fund management committee and to give publicity to this fund. 

2.       In the G.O. second read above, the Government issued orders for creation of a Centre for Research and application of Internet in Tamil.    ELCOT has been nominated as a nodal agency for fund management of this Centre. 

3.       In the G.O.third read above, the Government have issued orders disbanding the State I.T. Task Force and its Sub- Committee on I.T in Tamil.  The Government have also issued orders for constituting State Level Tamil Nadu Information Technology Council to be chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister and an Executive Committee of Tamil Nadu Information Technology Council to be chaired by the Chief Secretary to Government.   It was also ordered that while the Executive Committee will also look after all the non-technical aspects of the erstwhile Sub-committee of State IT Task Force, all the technical aspects of Tamil in IT looked after by this erstwhile Sub-committee have been entrusted to the Tamil Virtual University (TVU).

4.       Accordingly, the Managing Director, ELCOT has requested that the work being done by ELCOT referred to in paragraphs 1 and 2 above may be entrusted to TVU in line with the orders issued in the G.O. third read above.   He has also requested that the matters relating to the Certification Committee of Kani Thamizh Sangam may also be transferred to TVU.

5.       As this request conforms to the orders issued in the G.O third read above, the Government accept the request of the Managing Director, ELCOT and accordingly direct that in partial modification of the orders issued in the G.Os first and second read above, all the works referred to in paragraphs 1 and 2 above, as well as the matters relating to the Certification Committee of Kani Thamizh Sangam, now looked after by ELCOT, shall immediately stand transferred to the TVU.  

 6.       The M.D, ELCOT and Director, TVU are requested to take necessary follow up action.
