Training Offered to Ex-Servicemen

TRAINING:

RESETTLEMENT TRAINING:

Resettlement training in various trades are conducted for ex-Servicemen to help them in re-employment/ self-employment ventures.

TAILORING TRAINING:

The women dependants of Service / Ex-Service Personnel are given training in the Tailoring Units run by the Department of Ex-Servicemen’s Welfare in its District Offices to enable them to learn tailoring and thereby supplement their families’ income.  Stipend and raw materials are provided to such trainees from out of Tamil Nadu Ex-Services Personnel Benevolent Fund.  Subsidy of Rs.1,500/- to the daughters for purchase of sewing machine and free sewing machines is given to widows, trained in the Tailoring Units run by the Department.   The Directorate of Ex-Servicemen’s Welfare has made tie-up arrangements with the Directorate of Social Welfare for stitching of uniforms under the Noon Meal Scheme.
