The Pension Department is functioning under the administrative control of Finance Department.
Department of Pension was formed as per G.O. Ms. No. 531, Finance (PG) Department dated 28.6.1994 mainly to redress the grievances of the Pensioners and started functioning from 1.9.94.
Pension related grievances of all TamilNadu State Govt. Pensioners, viz.State Civil, Civil Family, Teacher and Teacher Family etc. are redressed.
Pensioners can directly address the Director of Pension who is the Nodal Officer for redressal. In addition to this, for the easy access of Pensioners, Pensioners Grievances Day Meetings are organized district wise by the District Collectors once in four months regularly represented by an official from the Directorate of Pension who assists the Collector in redressing the grievances of the pensioners.
Pensioners have the option to submit their grievances either to the District Collector concerned or to the Director of Pension.
If necessary, the pensioners should enclose the Xerox copy of Pension Payment Order for Speedy Process.
No third party agency is authorized in redressing the grievances of Pensioners. Family Security Fund, Employees Provident Fund, Social Security Fund are the schemes dealt by this Department.
