Nadu is the pioneering State in India in recognising the concept of
Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities and
implementing welfare schemes for their Social and Educational upliftment.
BCs/MBCs/DNCs constitute about 67% of the total population of the State.
It is the objective of the Government to continue the measures for the all
round development of these people.
