8 . WHOLESALE PRICE TREND Rice Common The monthly average Wholesale Price of Rice-Common showed a mixed trend during the fasli year. The price was Rs.1036.42 in July’05 and fluctuated in the remaining months and finally settled at Rs.1013.74 in June’06. Its annual average registered an increase of 2.69% in the current year when compared to the previous year. Cholam The monthly average Wholesale Price of Cholam registered a mixed trend during the fasli year. Its annual average recorded a slight decrease of 0.89% in the current year when compared to the previous year. Cumbu The monthly average Wholesale Price of Cumbu showed a decreasing trend in the first three months and fluctuated between Rs. 618.07 and Rs. 768.41 in the remaining months. Its annual average registered a slight increase of 0.58% in the current year over previous year. Ragi The monthly average Wholesale Price of Ragi also showed a decreasing trend in the first three months and thereafter showed a mixed trend. Its annual average showed a decrease of 3.89 % in the current year over previous year. Bengalgram The monthly average Wholesale Price of Bengalgram registered an increasing trend during the first six months except in Sep’06 and started decreasing and stood at Rs.2460.21 in March ’06 and registered an increasing trend during April’06 onwards and stood at Rs.2757.84 in June’06. Its annual average showed an increase of 15.06% in the current year over previous year. Redgram The monthly average Wholesale Price of Redgram remained steady in the first two months of the fasli year and thereafter it showed a mixed trend. Its annual average showed an incease of 4.84 % in the current year over previous year. Blackgram The monthly average Wholesale Price of Blackgram generally showed an increasing trend throughout the fasli year starting with Rs.2294.76 except for the months Feb.’06 & March ’06. Its annual average recorded an increase of 43.62 % in the current year over previous year. Greengram The monthly average Wholesale Price of Greengram showed an increasing trend during the first five months registered a mixed trend during the remaining months of the fasli year. Its annual average recorded an increase of 36.3 % in the current year over previous year. Groundnut pods The monthly average Wholesale Price of Groundnut pods showed a mixed trend during the fasli. The Prices fluctuated between Rs1712.50 & 1850.00. Its annual average recorded a decrease of 1.99 % in the current year over previous year. Gingelly seed The monthly average Wholesale Price of Gingelly seed showed a mixed trend during the fasli year. Its annual average recorded a decrease of 8.73 % in the current year over previous year. Tamarind The monthly average Wholesale Price of Tamarind showed generally an increasing trend during the fasli. The Price was started with Rs.2671.43 in July ’05 and ended with Rs.3292.86 in June ’06. Its annual average recorded a decrease of 26.48% in the current year over previous year. Chillies The monthly average Wholesale Price of Chillies showed an increasing trend during the fasli year. Its annual average recorded an increase of 14.38 % in the current year over previous year. Coriander The monthly average Wholesale Price of Coriander showed a mixed trend during the first quarter and increasing during the remaining months except February’06. Its annual average recorded an increase of 11.99 % in the current year over previous year. Turmeric The monthly average Wholesale Price of Turmeric showed an increasing trend during the first four months and decreasing trend during the remaining months of the fasli year. Its annual average recorded a decrease of 4.25 % in the current year over previous year. Cane-gur The monthly average Wholesale Price of Canegur showed an increasing trend during the first four months and gradually decreasing upto April ‘06. Its annual average recorded a decrease of 12.37 % in the current year over previous year.
