DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING

(TRAINING WING)

 The following schemes are implemented for the Welfare of the Public by Training Wing. 

  1. Training is imparted for trainees in Industrial Training Institutes.

  2. Evening classes are  conducted for Labourers.

  3. Training is imparted under apprentices Act Scheme.

 I. TRAINING IS IMPARTED FOR TRAINEES IN INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INSTITUTES:

 III. APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING SCHEME.

Apprentices Act training is given in 140 trades as per Apprentices Act 1961, Apprentices Act subsection (2) Section 26 is implemented by the State Director /State Apprenticeship Advisor.  It is implemented in 5 regions (viz) Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy and Tirunelveli regions. 

RESERVATION FOR APPRENTICES ACT SCHEME. 

Admission is given to the workers as per the rules and regulations for the Government and Private Establishment and Tools and Machineries. 

The trainees passed in Industrial Training Institutes are enrolled in Employment Exchanges and Related Instruction Centres.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR JOINING APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING

 a)         Educational Qualification                  :           N.T.C. Passed.
                                                                               Freshers with entry qualification
                                                                               As prescribed by the DGET under the Act. 
 b)         Age limit                                         :            Above 14 

c)         Training Period                                  :            6 months to 4 years according to
                                                                                trade.
d)         Training Charges                               :            Nil. 

CONTRACT FOR APPRENTICE ACT: 

Trainees should give three copies of the Agreement to the Regional Joint Director within 30 days of joining the course. Under aged Apprentices should sent agreement in a separate form. 

All India Trade Test for Apprentices are conducted during April and October every year. 

QUALIFICATION FOR WRITING THE EXAMINATION: 

The candidate should have enough training in Apprentices course.  They should have enough attendance.  The details are furnished below.  

PRACTICAL

If they work five days in a week and totally 167 days in the Establishment.  If they work 5 ½ days, 6 days and totally 200 days in the establishment.  

RELATED INSTRUCTION CLASSES

They should attend classes in Related Instruction Centres for 33 days/40 days in a year.  

ISSUE OF CERTIFICATE

National Apprenticeship trade Certificate will be awarded at All India Level. 

1st year trainees   :    Rs.   820/-

2nd year trainees   :   Rs.   940/-

3rd year trainees   :   Rs.   1090/-

4th year trainees   :   Rs.   1230/-

 The stipend is revised by the Government as per Government of India’s  order.
