Ø Grading local buffaloes with Murrah bulls.

Ø Breeding crossbred cows with crossbred bull semen.

Ø Selective breeding of native pure breeds of cattle such as Kangeyam and Umblachery in their respective breeding tracts.

Over the years, the native livestock in particular cows and she buffaloes have been developed by inseminating them with the exotic and crossbred bulls semen, which have dominating milk production traits.
